“Karmanye Vadhikaraste....

Bhagvad Gita commonly known as Gita is a 700 verse Hindu scripture that is part of the epic Mahabharat.    It is a dialogue between Pandava Prince Arjun and his mentor and charioteer Lord Krishna.    At the start of the Dharm Yudh ( battle for rights) between Kauravas and Pandavas, it fills Arjun with despair and dilemma over the magnitude of violence and deaths that the battle will cause on his elders and youngsters.   He tells Lord Krishna that he wishes to retract from the battlefield and seeks His counsel. Lord Krishna then gives answers to all his doubts. It is these answers and discourse that make up the Bhagvad Gita.   To convince Arjun to fight Lord Krishna takes his chariot in the middle of the battlefield and counsels him to uphold Dharma through selfless action and fulfill his duty without thinking of the result.    Arjun is not satisfied and again tells Lord Krishna :    “Madhav (another name of Lord Krishna), all tho

Sorry- No Bachelors - Part I

If you are a youngster and more importantly a bachelor looking for a rented flat or a house in any city, I am sure you must have invariably come across and read these most 'teasing' boards outside the gates of several houses and housing societies. I cannot explain how these boards hung outside hurt your self-esteem. It seems as if we bachelors are the only villains in the world out to destroy the social fabric of the society.. Why do we see these 'derogatory' or 'insulting' words written on boards outside houses?? According to me, we have to face these disrespectful words for one simple reason - the general conception of the landlords about bachelors are that they are noisy, undisciplined, messy and will create a nuisance. It is these prejudices that make it difficult for a single man or even a woman to move to an unknown city or a rented house, howsoever educated or disciplined he/she may be. E

Listen Patiently...

Listening is an art. Nature also wishes that we should listen twice as much as we speak, that’s why it has given us one mouth and two ears. The world would be a better place if we listened to others well. Listening is an effort that requires patience. People wish there was someone who could listen to them and who they would consider their savior. In these grueling times of the ‘KAAL’ when all are locked inside their homes, with nowhere to venture out because of the ongoing pandemic. Many people are working from homes as their offices are closed due to the same. Sometimes they get frustrated as they have no one to speak to and they cannot release their frustration, hence some get restive and weak-hearted people often go in depression. They wish there could be someone who would listen to them and understand their feelings, thoughts, and emotions. The listener may be a friend, family member, or someone in the circle. I wish to quote her

Life's Reality

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” ... 1) Doesn't matter how beautiful you are, it will not give you attention or attraction  - Because monkeys and gorillas also attract people towards them. 2) Doesn't matter how powerful and strong you are - Because you can not take yourself to the cremation ground. Other people will carry you. 3) Doesn't matter how tall you are  - Because however tall you may be, you cannot see what is coming to you tomorrow. You cannot see your future, however tall you may be. 4) Doesn't matter if you have a fair and glowing skin - Because you always need a light in the dark. Your fair and glowing skin will be of no use in dark. 5) Doesn't matter if you don't laugh, I will consider you civilized - Because there are enough people to laugh at " you".You are under scrutiny all the time by your critics, who are there

COVID -19 continued

While in my earlier post I had asked you to be positive and imagine everything is fine in the context of the deadly disease. In this short idea I wish to give a few tips to prevent the speedy spread of the same (this is beside the health tips you must be getting day in and day out on Social Media, and you must fully know them) : 1. Be Lazy - lie in the bed idly, which you have not been doing since a long long time because     of your fast life and various commitments. 2. Stay at home- help your children know you (which they have been missing) and help your wife in     her work. You will be proud to see the happiness on their faces, which you may not have seen since.     long.                                        3. Consider the time given by the disease as a blessing and spend quality time with your family,     perhaps you have not done it since a long time because of your business or other commitments. 4. Compete with neighbours as to who goes out of the house lesser.
