12 Jyotirlingas -Temples of Lord Shiva

                                    Lord Shiva also known as Maheshvara, Mahadev, Mahadev, Shambhu, the Destroyer of Evil and Ignorance and others, is worshipped in India and spread all across the Universe. Being a Hindu, most of the people come across the term ‘Jyotirlinga’ .    Just for the sake of my dear friends, I would like to refresh their minds by saying that a Jyotirlinga is a shrine where Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of a Jyotirlingam. A Jyotirlinga is a holy representation of Lord Shiva. The word ‘Jyoti’ means light and ‘linga’ means sign. Jyotirlinga is the light of Lord Shiva. There are several temples dedicated to His worship in India and abroad. The most prominent of these are the Jyotirlinga  temples.
