Buddies..

Hi, folks in my last engagement Buddy I had narrated my own experience of how much I needed a buddy in my life. I had narrated how a friend can be of tremendous support in happy and bad times.

Here I wish to highlight the value of a Friend and Friendship and quote a few inspiring collection of friendship quotes :

·         “Friends are the most valuable assets a person can possess. Friendships require reciprocity –     of admiration, respect and emotional trust.”

·        “Friends could be partners, family members, co-workers, and people whom we have known since our childhood. Even pets we love can be our friends.”

·         “Few other things have a huge impact on happiness as friends.”

·         “Friendship is the greatest power in the world.”

·         “You have the greatest treasure if you have found a true friend.”

·         “When you are in trouble, friendship will help as a weapon.”

·         “If you lose your path in life, friendship will help you by becoming a book of knowledge.”

·         “If you are stuck in a foul plan, friendship will take you out by acting as your mind.”

·         “If ever you feel lonely, it will support you by acting as a guide.”

·         “If you want to earn something in this world, don’t earn money to earn friendship.”

·         “And remember, if friendship is your weakness or making good friends is your weakness, then you are the most powerful person in the world.”

·         “An old and true friendship is like pension which remains with you even after retirement.”

·         “A single rose can be my garden… a single friend, my world.”
– Leo Buscaglia

Friendship may be of three types according to Greek philosopher Aristotle:

1)      Friendship of Utility: Those friends who are useful to your life or bring your convenience– may be a friend who enrolls in the same swimming club as yours and helps you in learning to swim.

2)     Friendship of Pleasure: These friends help you stay light-hearted. You meet them for drinks, gossip, or a game of cards- but things never get too serious.

3)     Friendship of the Good: These come along a few times in the course of your life span and are people who will talk to you about everything.

“In friendship for good, you value who that friend actually is, strengths and weaknesses alike and there is a sufficient amount of trust between the two, that the relationship’s quality and depth outshine those of other types of friendship” – Suzzane D White.

Mirza Ghalib the great shayar or poet describes a friend in a  beautiful couplet and in these two lines he has given the gist of  friendship:

“ Sharat Lagee Thi Khushi Ko, Ek Alfaaz Mein Likhne Ki

Log Kitaab Dhoondhte Rahe, Hamne Dost Likh Diya.”

It means: There was a bet to write happiness in one word,

People searched in books, I wrote “ Friend”.

So, “friendship is whether you’re celebrating life or happen to experience an unexpected bump, you can always rely on your friends to be there for you. A listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or finding the silver lining in a less than ideal situation.”

Karmanaye Vadhikaraste- A Timeless Lesson From The Bhagwad gita

“कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन । मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भुर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि ॥” One of the most  important verses  of the  Bhagavad Gita ,  Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana,  was spoken by Lord Krishna to Arjun on the battlefield of Kurukshetra during the epic Mahabharata. Let’s see what does this mean:  Karmanye Vadhikaraste , Ma phaleshou Kada chana — You have the right to perform your actions, but you are not entitled to the fruits of the actions. Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani — Do not let the fruit be the purpose of your actions, therefore you won’t be attached to not doing your duty. Indeed, this message comes from  Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 47 , where Lord Krishna advises Arjun to focus on his duty without attachment to the results. This profound teaching emphasizes the importance of  selfless action  and is central to the philosophy of  Karma  Yoga  — performing one’s duty without ...
